So I've really been meaning to try out HDR for quite a while now.. and I had played around with it before in CS2 and CS3... and I was never really happy with the results and found the images to be quite lacking.. hence why I never posted anything.
So earlier this week I stumbled upon this
[link]It's a link to a bunch of tutorials on how to do HDR. I knew the basics and most of the technical stuff about it, but there was one big thing I lacked... PHOTOMATIX. I had heard about it before, but it wasnt till I saw it in countless tutorials, and tried it myself, that I found it was what I was missing. Photomatix is incredible... you can end up with great HDR images with minimal processing... or use it as a starting point before you launch into photoshop and work your magic.
In other news... my Nikon D70s is starting to get a bit tired and old... I'm thinking about upgrading... and I'm not sure what to do. The D300s appeals greatly to me because of it's price, and it's features.. but I've tried some test shots and been unimpressed with the ISO performance and noise levels. And we all know how spectacular the D700 is with noise rejection.. which is why I'm considering it. Does anyone out there have any comments? Is the D700 really worth the extra $1000?
